Our Story

Our family has been in and around the wine industry since the late 1990’s when our founder was introduced to the great small batch wines produced in Sonoma and surrounding AVA’s.

For the past 30+ years our family has developed winery related software, created a boutique wine & beer distributorship, offered custom labeled wine and ultimately founded Figjam Estate Winery in mid 2023.

Our original custom labeled product offering was in 2004 when we designed labels in house and printed them on a color laser printer, cut them by hand and glued them to bottles one at a time for special events.

Today we are still offering design assistance, but the labels are printed in full color with very high resolution. Then the labels are applied using state of the art equipment to assure a final product of which you will be proud. Guaranteed.

Figjam was started by married couple Bev Burroughs and Jeff Jakus as a high quality, small batch, eco friendly winery with the intent of involving their family. Today this has evolved into a thriving online, local (Coronado & San Diego) and national wine business selling to consumers and trade accounts.

Seeing a void in the custom labeled wine space, Sonoma Custom was born in early 2026. We now offer a subset of the Figjam lineup in our custom program:

  • Carneros Chardonnay

  • Sonoma Coast Sauvignon Blanc

  • Carneros Sparkling Brut Rose’
